My freinds and i played our first game of inevitable over the weekend and we were able to translate the rules with no problems except one. We had one player, the playboys, in jail and he was low on power and eventually died. Now the rules state that he is sent over to the hospital for the next turn and he has to pay for the new clone. the problem comes up with the fact that he bought a clone from the catalog. the rules state that the clone regenerates immediatly when the player dies. So what happens if he dies in jail with a clone? is he foreced over to the hospital? or is his clone activated and pives all his power back? if it gives him his power back does he get out of jail or does he stay in till one of us pays or he rolls doubles?

Excellent question!

Excellent question!  The rules state that Death sets you free from Jail, and that you move to the Hospital's ICU [Intensive Cloning Units], but the Clone Replacement rules explicitly stipulate "Do not move to the Hospital's ICU."

The "when in doubt, screw the player" stipulation in Troubleshooting would suggest that the player dies, is Cloned in Jail, and the Clone remains Incarcerated.  This makes sense-- since you don't go out of play when you activate the Clone, you aren't really technically considered to have spent any time Dead, which means that the rules for being freed from Jail by "Dropping Dead" do not apply.  Sucks for the Clone though-- Jailed for a crime it didn't commit --but, that's Inevitable

What did you guys decide?

we actually did decide how you suggested we did it, he used his clone and remained in jail. Love the game!
